Owner / Technician Manager

Dan started The Bug Man, Inc. in 2001 to provide customers with quality pest control at a reasonable cost. He has since then grew his business to the great success it is today.

Dan has over 20 years of experience in pest control and was elected President of the Iowa Pest Management Association in 2022 after serving as Treasurer for two years.

Dan and his wife, Erica, are parents of three children, two of which currently work for the company. In his free time, Dan loves to play tennis and baseball and he is in the Men’s Senior Baseball League in Des Moines. He also enjoys his morning walks to Starbucks with his wife and dogs.

Daniel started working for the family business in 2017 after graduating from Des Moines Lincoln High School. Although he was officially hired on by The Bug Man when he was 18, Daniel always helped out around the shop whether it was filling water jugs to put in the work cars or riding along with his dad to keep him company.

In his free time, Daniel loves playing video games and hanging out with his cat. He is also a member of Head Turners car club and loves to modify his 2012 Camaro SS.

Darian has been helping with paperwork for the family business since she was in middle school, but she was officially hired on as a pest technician in 2019.

Darian played basketball at Southwestern Community College from 2012-2014 and then received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Drake University in 2016. She is currently working towards her Master’s of Entomology and Nematology with a concentration in Urban Pest Management at the University of Florida. Go Gators!

In her free time, Darian enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, and gaming on her Nintendo Switch.
